Paramount Pictures Studios
5555 MELROSE AVE, W HOLLYWOOD, CA, 90038
Paramount Pictures Studios sits on an iconic 65-acre lot at 5555 Melrose Avenue in Hollywood and is the only major film studio still located within Hollywood proper. Founded in 1912, Paramount is the longest-operating and one of the oldest major film studios in the United States; it purchased its present lot (formerly United Studios) in 1926 and adopted the Paramount name in 1930. The lot features 29 sound stages, a five-acre New York Street backlot, and various park and exterior locations, with stages historically marked by signs listing the productions shot there. Stage 18, long known as 'The DeMille Stage,' was later dubbed 'The Star Trek Stage' for the many Trek films and series shot there. Today the studio is owned by Paramount, a Skydance Corporation, led by chairman and CEO David Ellison.
